Hi, I’m Kira DeDecker (“key-ra dee-decker”) and I’m a pet photographer serving Arizona’s greater Phoenix Metro area. Welcome to my blog! This is where I share not only my most recent work but also my life with you. Client sneak peeks, Facebook recaps, announcements, updates, awesome new offerings and the occasional (okay, frequent) story about my crazy but amazing life with my three dogs – Sox, Bixby and Waffles.
Pull up a chair and make sure it’s nice and comfy because you will want to stay awhile. It’s great to have you here!
Over on the KDP Facebook page there are client sneak peeks and personal photos of my brood but with Facebook constantly changing sometimes things get lost in the shuffle…so here is what you may have missed from March.
Dog breath is good for the soul.
My daily dose of distraction. He loves to jump in my lap while I’m working at my desk and woo me with his furry cuteness.
How the editing process looks like from start to finish. From right to left: Raw SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera), Raw Edit, Final Photoshop edit.
Sometimes Bix and Waffs likes to pretend that they are wild wolves living off the land and not small domestic dogs that have three bowls of filtered water inside waiting inside for them.
I proclaimed my love my outdated copy of Photoshop CS3, that was, however, before CS6 was released.
March in Arizona in amazing. Temps in the low 70’s, citrus blossoms and slight overcast days that make the sun look like its on fire.
A shot of Sox covered in pollen from the ’11 archives.
Who says Bixby is a wild child? Oh right, everyone.
Sometimes when I’m sorting photos, I can’t decide between Color and the Black and White edits so I asked FB, and the vote was overwhelming for the color edit.
This how I get smudges on my lenses. Sox thinks closer = better.
Every time I see this face, I was to smooch it! You can see more of Rocky’s session here
Waffles makes this face when he wants something from us, whether it be pets or treats and it does me in every time.
An outtake from Bixby’s sprinkler’s adventures.
A personal photo of Peetie and Tim. I’m finally getting to a point where I can look at photos of her without crying.
You got a little something on your face…
I love my guys with a full chest of fur.
Photoshop CS6 beta was released! I’m already is love with it.
March 25th was National Puppy day which meant more puppy Ian goodness!
I have an early Sunday morning session with two amazing horses, Harleigh and Amber.
Still love him, cranky face and all.
I spent one of my Friday mornings, editing my husband out of photo of him holding my purse. My job is weird sometimes.
The photo sans my purse-carrying-husband. Aren’t these two amazing?!
Jojo, my neighbor’s creeper peeper of a dog. You can see what the original crop looked like on Pawesome.

Amber is amazing. I can see why people love horses so much after meeting her.
Packed away the seamless to do some work on my studio when I had a weird moment and decided to do some faux-newborn set-up with my dogs. It’s okay if you think I’ve lost it, my husband is starting to think the same thing…
