Hi, I’m Kira DeDecker (“key-ra dee-decker”) and I’m a pet photographer serving Arizona’s greater Phoenix Metro area. Welcome to my blog! This is where I share not only my most recent work but also my life with you. Client sneak peeks, Facebook recaps, announcements, updates, awesome new offerings and the occasional (okay, frequent) story about my crazy but amazing life with my three dogs – Sox, Bixby and Waffles.
Pull up a chair and make sure it’s nice and comfy because you will want to stay awhile. It’s great to have you here!
You know what I’m about to say, if you want to see the most up-to-date happenings so it’s a good idea to follow KDP on Facebook.
We start off of with my beasts in bow ties because I may or may not have an absolute and utter obsession with putting bow ties on my beasts…but I don’t see that as a problem…
Nope, I’m not seeing any problems with the bow ties.
By happenstance, a mound latana bush planted itself in my backyard, just bellow my bedroom window. It’s the little things.
Happy 3rd Adopt-a-versary to Sox. I wish I could put into words what this beast means to me – but like my feeling for my other two beasts I’m overwhelmed with how full they make my heart feel.
He has been with me for a lot – hence his nickname “Little Defender”. I remember the morning after I lost Peetie, waking up and sobbing and he crawled into bed, pulled my sheet down and licked my face. He has also saved my ass when I cut fingernail and laid in a pool of blood, and he went and got my husband making a fuss until I was taking care of.
And there are the times he makes me and my husband laugh. Like the time we found him asleep on the kitchen table after he ate our crab puffs and pawed through a container of rice. Naturally we both laughed and took a photo before we woke him up.
(But I’m going to stop sharing Sox stories because once I get started I will be here all night.)
SMOOSH!
(Random fact: Waffles likes to keep his ears glued to the back of his head unless I’m making some really funky noise to get his ears up he looks high in his photos.)
Working on some Lightroom presets. A little bit more on the dramatic side but it shows you the wonders of shooting with RAW. Loving the dramatic fall colors.
And the final “Afters” for the above two images.
Joy is simple.

If you are asking about the B&A photos of Waffles, I used my LR presets.
