Hi, I’m Kira DeDecker (“key-ra dee-decker”) and I’m a pet photographer serving Arizona’s greater Phoenix Metro area. Welcome to my blog! This is where I share not only my most recent work but also my life with you. Client sneak peeks, Facebook recaps, announcements, updates, awesome new offerings and the occasional (okay, frequent) story about my crazy but amazing life with my three dogs – Sox, Bixby and Waffles.
Pull up a chair and make sure it’s nice and comfy because you will want to stay awhile. It’s great to have you here!
Over on the KDP Facebook page there are client sneak peeks and personal photos of my brood but with Facebook constantly changing sometimes things get lost in the shuffle…so here is what you may have missed from February.
A B&A of puppy Ian, who I’m sure isn’t much of a puppy these days *sniff sniff*.
February was a month of sneak peeks around KDP. Ian, Esme and Casper showed everyone their modeling chops (in Casper’s case, he just showed us his chops)
I’m going through the tedious job of updating my ‘folio which means lots of time behind my computer making sure things look just right.
Not spoiled, just well loved. We bought our big boy a new chew toy since he loves ripping things apart.
Expressive Bear showed everyone is super adorable ears.
I couldn’t decide between the vintage (left) or the clean edit (right) so I asked and the vote was overwhelming for the vintage edit! You can check out the final results here and here.
Once Diamond discovered that I tricked her out of my lap to take her photo she turned her back to me. Passive aggressive suits Miss Thang.
Waffle’s nickname is Sauve-flles because this big boy makes all the ladies swoon.
Bobby avoided me and my studio as much as possible.
Sox message for us for Valentine’s/Anna Howard Shaw/Arizona Statehood day.
Feburary was also a month for doggy lips and yawns.
More puppy Ian goodness! A follow up to the preview from last month.
I have never had a dog so comfy in front of the lens as Mr. Waffles. Here he is showing of his merle belly.
A B&A of Bixby to help ring in her first adopt-a-versary.
A rare B&W of Sox showing his dramatic side.

You photograph some of THE cutest poms (including yours!). I love this “what you missed” post idea, and I really love how amazing their eyes all look! Do you mind me asking what action/PS treatment you use to get their eyes to pop so much? TRA’s Clarify maybe? I looooove all of the color in your work too 🙂

Thanks Britt! I love these posts because then other people can “pin” them on Pintrest. I make and use my own actions – including the one for the eyes – makes my life so much easier. Speaking of the eyes, it’s basically just an action that helps sharpen, brighten and darken (with masks of course), it’s nothing special.
