I’m happy to announce that there is new face joining my operation here at Kira DeDecker Photography! I now have a new assistant to help me. So please welcome my brand spankin’ new assistant.

Oh, it’s just my husband. That was anticlimactic wasn’t it? In all seriousness though, I love having the Mister around to help me get things done so I’m glad he talked me into letting him be my assistant. (Yes, he asked me folks. Not the other way around.)

His job includes

“Day of” duties. Doing things like loading the car, driving, carrying my extra backup equipment, holding my grey card or reflector. Basically helping me do whatever I need the day of a shoot so I can relax and concentrate on my job which his getting awesome pet photos.
Taking my calls. So if you hear a deep voice on the other end, chances are it’s Tim. If you want to talk to me personally, just let him know.
Running my errands. Going to the bank, taking the dogs out so they don’t distract me, you know stuff like that.
Mailing Orders. A huge time-saver for me! (See that lovely package, previous clients? That was lovingly taped and shipped by Tim.)
Web Developer. It would be stupid of me not to have him do this since he is actually web engineering/developer (it’s his full time job in case you are curious). If you are wondering how I got a customized, non flash, HTML 5 website it’s because he did it for me. He makes sure my website and blog run smoothly for me.

But doesn’t include

Photo taking. He is my assistant, not my second shooter. Everything photo will be done by me. Period.
Post Processing/Editing. Post processing is a component of my over all style. Plus I really enjoy doing it.
Design work. Whether it be albums or branding material. All the creative stuff stays with me.
Answering Emails. That also goes for any other communication that has my name on it. If it says Kira DeDecker, rest assured that it’s actually me.
Blog entries. I know you would miss my lame attempts at humor if he took over.
Order Fulfillment. All order still go directly through me. I still crop, prep, and design every single order that I revive.
